 At the stoke of midnight

when the world slept tight

    A star was born

    Free India stepped into it's quaint dawn

She's young at heart - just 7 decades plus three

Achieving all things oh so mighty

    This country with bountiful blessings of Nature

    And its unique kaleidoscopic culture

We her children have so much to pride

For the illustrious legacy on which we ride

    For all the distinctions that we've been a part 

    That make our India stand apart

We've emerged a technological hero

Delivering to the world medicine, arts, science and the humble Zero!

    We've conquered the realms of space, Mars and Moon

    Our diversity over which the world it swoons! 

We've stood together in times that were morbid

Nature's fury, protecting our borders and the mysterious COVID

    Demonstrating how to go with the flow

    Evolving together every moment like a pro!

We have so much to look back and treasure

What we've attained is hard to measure

    So as our India steps into a new year leaving the old behind

    Lets greet her with a chant of "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisaan,  Jai Vigyaan and Jai Hind!

An humble beginning, youngest of four
  Your journey from a boy to a grounded lad
Keeping values, hard-work and sincerity as core,
  Growing up to be  a trusted son, brother and comrade!!

Finding your match in a Trichy lass
   Checking in to new places to see what's in store
Juggling between being a husband, father and an in-law with class
  Your adventure began in Bangalore

Winning all awards and accolades there is
   Across North and South of the official tree
Meandering home and office
  Between Bhopal, Chennai and God' own country!!

Stepping to don the new hat
 of THE father-in-law
But nothing, I can safely bet
 Was more precious than the additions 2011 saw!!!

You have been a great partner, father and mentor
   So many people you nourished
But the one trait we can never ignore
  Is that loud hearty laugh we cherish!!

Our prayers for you will stay
  You're granted with health and blessings!
At the start of each new day
  In all the arenas you are progressing.

We ask for peace for you, in all things big and small
But it is in His loving care We pray for you of all!!!

Be mindful of
where you stand
washing your hands
To defeat this enigma
of the virus called Corona

Life Lessons!

She twirled and giggled
amidst frolicking waves
Then dad and daughter huddled
before building their sand enclave


I watched the adorable pair
Filling pails of sand and water
Admiring the castle built with care
Living precious moments of love and laughter

There stood the glistening beauty
Complete with a flag and a moat
The architects lauding their duty
Disregarding  specs of gravel on their curly hair and throat

A mighty wave came dancing
And gobbled up the castle in a gulp
The little lass was squealing and prancing
As the castle now turned into a sand pulp

Soul stirring thoughts flashed in a flash
About how kids almost always live in the moment
From the inception of the castle to it's bash
My little girl lived and enjoyed every component

There was a lesson to take away
Of mindfulness and living in the moment
It's the only way to live no matter if you choose to say
cogli l'attimo, Varthamane Jeeva or saisir le moment**

String one mindful moment after another
To make life more worthwhile
That's the philosophy to weather
All weathers and improve your life style!!
